WORD FROM THE TEACHER
WOW! What a great first two weeks. It has been so much fun getting to know your children. They are off to a great start!
- I will send home regular weekly newsletters every two weeks with information about what we have done and will be doing in class, and important upcoming events.
- Starting Monday, your child will be bringing home a SMILE (1 inch binder) notebook. All homework and paper correspondence will come home M-F in your child's SMILE notebook, there is a description of uses for the binder inside the front cover. This binder should be returned to school daily. Your child's class number and name will also be on the spine of the SMILE notebook. This number will be your child's books and desk number throughout the year.
- Work completed throughout the week will come home every Friday in your child's Friday folder. Friday folders should be returned every Monday.
- Homework will be sent home every Friday. Please return homework on or before the following Thursday.
- Any work that was not finished in class will be sent home daily to complete. Please encourage your child to finish any unfinished and send it back to school.
- Student of the week. Starting in October, every child will have a turn to be "Student of the week". I will show you what to do at the Open House.
- Thank you for sending in all of the supplies! If you have not sent in supplies please do so. The list can be found on Al Iman's website.
- We need a volunteer to take on the role of our Room Parent. The Room Parent will be responsible for arranging parents to chaperone on field trips, class parties, etc. If you feel that you could support our class in this role please let me know.
- Classroom Volunteers needed. I will be sending home a schedule for volunteers. Please let me know if you are able to volunteer.
- **We do have a student in class with peanut allergies. Please avoid sending your child to school with snacks that contain peanuts or tree nuts so that we can keep our classroom a safe place for all children. **
- I encourage students to bring a water bottle to school every day to get water in class. This helps limit disruptions and lost instruction time from having to leave the room for water.
- Uniform- Please have your child come to school in uniform every day. Girls should be in their PE uniform every Monday and Wednesday. Boys should be in their PE uniforms every Tuesday and Thursday.
- If you need to reach me you can in several ways:
1. By email (the best way) - You can email me at
